Amsterdam Light Festival

Just after Christmas we decided to go to the Amsterdam Light Festival. 

We love to go to Amsterdam, walking around and enjoy the architecture, visiting some speciality shops and looking to the colorfull people from many cultures. 

We traveled by train which took us into the center of Amsterdam. After a cup of coffee and appel pie we walked in the direction of the Amstel river.

After arriving at the Amstel River we walked around and waited for the sunset and the blue hour to take some nice pics of this area.

The sunset was not spectacular and the blue hour turned out to be grey hour.
Fortunately it is always possible to take some nice pics in Amsterdam due to the historical architecture. 

Finally the sun was set and the first light art of the festival was illuminated.

Before walking the Illuminade route we took adventage of the blue hour and hurried from one location to another to take the pics below.

After the blue hour we went to a restaurant and had a nice Italian meal.

In the evening we walked the Illuminade route.
This route took us past several inspiring light artworks of the Amsterdam Light Festival.
