Surprising city of Rotterdam (part 3)

20/1/2015

The end of the day is approaching. In the distance we see our final goal:
The Erasmus Bridge (Dutch: Ersamusbrug).

Clouds were moving in from the sea when we crossed the Willemsbrug.

I wanted to go to the other side of the Erasmusbrug to take pictures during the blue hour. There is no bridge at this side of the island where this picture is taken.
We had to hurry to be on time on the other side for the blue hour....

Looking backwards from the location the photo on the left side is taken we saw the magnificent skyline of Rotterdam.
Foto
Fortunately we made it on time. Time enough to make an early shot. Still too much light for a long exposure shot.

From this point (called 'Kop van Zuid') you have a great view back on the Erasmusbrug and the skyline of Rotterdam.

On this location - just behind me - there is a very high building. Could not resist to take a picture while waiting for more darkness...
Finally the light conditions we were waiting for...

We will definitely return to Rotterdam. A beautiful modern city with lots of photo opportunities!
